Style Hacks Every Girl Needs to Know for SS15

By Elma B.

From beach waves to sun kissed tans, I always admired the casually beautiful beach look. With the relaxing beats of reggae music and the sound of the waves subtly hitting the shore, the the Jamaican life inspires the effortlessly beautiful beach look. I wanted to provide you with style tips for this warm season, whether you are laying out on the beach or roaming around the blistering hot streets of New York City...

Style Hacks Every Girl Needs to Know for SS15:

1. Beach waves. Since humidity becomes abundantly present in our lives during late spring and summer, I suggest sporting the ever so easy beach waves. They are incredibly easy to achieve: braid damp hair during the night and let loose the locks in the morning. Tip: use hairspray to achieve even more volume on the top.

2. Overalls. Yes, overalls. Overalls communicate I am relaxed and confident. I bought a pair of white overalls from H&M that I wore over my bathing suit. Overalls are comfortable and easy to pair with almost any tank top/t-shirt and sandals or tennis shoes.

3. Hat. Find a few go-to hats this summer. They are always a fun accessory and are enough to make any look interesting. Appropriately, I found a lightweight and petit straw hat for the beach.

4. Sandals. This season, the minimalist trend is dominating the runways and many high street shops. In fact, I bought a pair of black leather sandals with straps. The bottom is made of straw material and has a bit of a platform to add elegance. Hence, I advise purchasing a pair (or two) that you will get the most milage out of.

5. Bathing suits. The same goes for bathing suits (as for sandals), purchase a few that will go a long way. I suggest simple black bikinis with a few stand out details like multiple straps on the back (see the back of my bikini) or a one piece black bathing suit with a very deep v neck back.

There you have it fashionistas-- how to obtain a casually beautiful beach look. What are some of your own "can't live without" styling tips for the beach? Leave me a comment below, love hearing from you. Until next time, xoxo from Negril, Jamaica!!
